The journey through the Himalayan terrain is filled with scenic views and divine energy. Gaurikund, situated at about 6,500 feet, is the base camp for the Kedarnath trek and a place of immense religious significance. According to Hindu mythology, Goddess Parvati performed intense penance here to win Lord Shiva’s love, leading to their divine marriage. The town is also known for the Gauri Kund hot water spring, where pilgrims traditionally take a holy dip before beginning their trek to Kedarnath.
